Starting and ending in Lima, this 7-day guided tour will take you to travel through the highlights of Peru. Explore Lima, the current capital, and Cusco, the former Inca capital; immerse yourself in the stunning nature and culture of the Sacred Valley; and spend one night in Aguas Calientes to explore Machu Picchu, widely known as the "Lost City of Incas. |
Day 1 : Lima
On arrival to Lima airport your private driver and guide are waiting to take you to the hotel in the lovely Miraflores area of town.
Day 2 : Lima
A different way to see some of the city is by bike. You will join a small group on this tour to visit both Miraflores and Barranco.
Day 3 : Cuzco
Your private driver will return you to Lima airport for the short flight to Cuzco high in the Andes. Your private driver and guide will drive you to your hotel.The afternoon will be yours to enjoy at your leisure as you adjust to the altitude.
Day 4 : Cuzco
A great way to adjust to the high altitude and see the main sites of Cuzco is on foot. First, visit Tambomachay in a private vehicle and then walk back down to Cuzco visiting different Incas sites with your private guide.
Day 5 : Cuzco
The morning is spent rafting on class III and IV rapids on the Urubamba River before a picnic lunch on the banks of the river.
Day 6 : Cuzco
Enjoy a day at leisure in Cuzco. It is a great town to wander about and enjoy the local markets and cafes that look out over the main square.
Day 7 : Sacred Valley of Incas
Your private guide will accompany you for 2 days of mountain biking on small mountain trails into an area of the Sacred Valley that is well-known for its traditional weaving techniques. You will spend the night camping close to hot springs.
Day 8 : Sacred Valley of Incas
The private car drives you to the top of a mountain pass where you begin biking down through a beautiful canyon with a mix of Inca pathways and farming roads.
Day 9 : Sacred Valley of Incas
Enjoy a day of leisure in Ollantaytambo. This small Incan village has ruins well worth exploring.
Day 10 : Sacred Valley of Incas
You will be collected from your hotel and taken to the beginning of the Inca Trail where you will be given a briefing and start the trek.
Day 11 : Sacred Valley of Incas
The most challenging day on the trail as you cross Dead Woman's pass at 4,200 meters above sea level.
Day 12 : Sacred Valley of Incas
This day involves trekking down Inca staircases and through Inca tunnels, it is a truly spectacular day of hiking.
Day 13 : Cuzco
An early departure towards Inti Punku (the Sun Gate) where you see Machu Picchu and then head down into the ancient citadel. You will have a guided tour and then board your train to head back to Cuzco for the night.
Day 14 : Return home
Your guide and driver will bid you goodbye as they take you to the airport to begin the journey home.
Day 1: Arrival – Lima

Welcome to Lima, the capital of Peru! Meet our representative outside Customs, who will escort you to your hotel. After checking in, you can either relax in the hotel to recover from the long journey or go outside to a fine restaurant for famous Peruvian cuisine.
Day 2: Lima – Cusco

Fly to Cusco this morning. On arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel for a rest and give your body some time to adjust to the high altitude. Go sightseeing in Cusco this afternoon. Visit the site of Qorikancha, once the most revered Golden Temple dedicated to Sun God in Inca Empire. Admire a collection of art inside the Cusco Cathedral before visiting the archaeological complex of Sacsayhuaman. This impressive Incan fortress will amaze you with exquisite stone masonry and dramatic vistas.
Day 3: Cusco - Sacred Valley - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes

Set out for Awanacancha, the only camelid theme park in South America. Continue your journey to the Sacred Valley. You will walk around the lovely town of Pisac, admiring the locally made handicrafts at its colorful markets, followed by the Pisac Archaeological Park. These impressive ruins will show you a town of the ancient Inca Empire, with all types of functional buildings, remained. Ollantaytambo Archaeological Park is another Inca site you will visit. After the tour, take a scenic train to Aguas Calientes for the night.
Day 4: Aguas Calientes – Cusco

Line up to take a shuttle bus to Machu Picchu at the appointed time. Built in preColumbian times, this magnificent ruin site is an iconic symbol of the Inca Empire, often referred to as the "Lost City of the Inca." With your private tour guide, visit the main areas like the ritual baths, the Palace of the Princess, and the Temple of the Sun. After the guided tour, you will have some time to explore on your own. In the afternoon, take the shuttle bus down back to the town and find a nice cafe for a drink or lunch. Return to your hotel to collect your luggage and walk to the train station to catch your train to the Poroy Station in Cusco. Our representative will meet you here and take you to your hotel for check-in.
Day 5: Cusco

Today is yours to wander around at leisure. Stroll through the cobblestone streets of this former Inca capital to admire its colonial architecture, historic cathedrals, fine museums, and fantastic restaurants. Taking a break in a coffee shop and sipping a delicious Peruvian coffee while overlooking Cusco's beautiful streets is also a good choice.
Day 6: Cusco – Lima
Meals: Breakfast
Overnight: Lima
Take some time off before flying back to Lima. Upon arrival, proceed to your hotel for check-in and refreshments.
Day 7: Lima - Departure
Meals: Breakfast
Spend 3 hours exploring Lima's downtown area in the morning. You will walk through Plaza de Armas, surrounded by the Government Palace, the Basilica and Convent of San Francisco, and many other historic buildings. Continue to San Isidro District to see the residential neighborhoods and commercial areas. After visiting the archaeological site of Huaca Huallamarca, you will take great views of the Pacific Ocean in the Miraflores district. After the tour, relax until a private transfer takes you to the airport for your homebound flight.
