Maca Bana VillasFood & drinkAlthough the villas have a kitchen and are completely set up to self-cater, guests often dine at The Aquarium Restaurant, which is down on the beach, just two minutes’ walk from the villas. They don’t offer breakfast, but they’re open from 10am until 10pm daily in high season, six days a week in low season. Set right on the beachfront, The Aquarium is very popular with locals and serves international dishes with a Caribbean twist, with much of the ingredients either grown in their own organic nursery or produce from their rainforest farm. On Sundays they offer an all-day barbecue with live Reggae music in the afternoon. Although there is no specific room service menu, Maca Bana can have meals from Aquarium in the privacy of their villa or can even arrange for a private chef or cooking lessons in their villa. There are other local restaurants between 5-15 minutes drive away, or for a small fee, the resort will also do your grocery shopping for you if you’d prefer to cook for yourself. |
Description |
Powdery sands, palm trees strung with hammocks and a laid-back approach to life invite you to relax and enjoy this unspoiled corner of the Caribbean. Most of the islands and islets in this volcanic island chain are uninhabited, covered in thick jungle overhanging white-sand beaches. The rest are occupied with brightly painted fishing villages, lively markets and the occasional crumbling French fort. |
Nutmeg, cinnamon, turmeric and cloves: the flora of Grenada reads like the ingredients list for a Creole curry. Our specialists have explored this isle of spice, from its mountainous interior to the never-busy beaches, and can suggest how to include it on your trip through the Caribbean. Stay where your suite leads straight onto the beach or spend time on a privately crewed yacht, flitting between marinas. |
