Itinerary: Morocco in 10 days - Grand Tour & Kasbah Route - LUXURY

Day 1: US - Night on board

Arrive at your US departure airport, ready for a flight to Casablanca. Night on board. Important: If your outbound flight leaves at dawn (before 04:00) you must arrive at the airport the night before the selected departure day.

Day 2: Casablanca

Arrive in Casablanca and transfer to the hotel. Casablanca, immortalised in the famous movie, is a port city and commercial hub in western Morocco, located on the Atlantic Coast. Dinner and overnight stay in Casablanca.* * Dinner is not included if you arrive after 8:00 pm.

Day 3: Casablanca - Rabat - Asilah - Tangier

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, get to know iconic Casablanca and enjoy a city tour where you can marvel at the Art Deco buildings and the Dar El Baida White House before visiting the Mohammed V Square and the upmarket Anfa district. Leave in the direction of Rabat to visit the Kasbah of the Oudayas, a citadel that is located to the north of the city. This fortress retains its Arab character of narrow alleys with white and blue façades that lead to viewpoints from which there are incredible views of the Atlantic coast Visit the astounding Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. After the visit, travel to Asilah, founded in Phonecian times, before finally arriving in the bustling port-city of Tangier. Check-in to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay in Tangier.

Day 4: Tangier - Chefchaouen - Ouazzane - Meknes - Fez

Breakfast at the hotel. Begin the day with a panoramic tour of the city, before heading to the Rif Mountains and to the blue city of Chefchaouen, one of Morocco's most photographed cities. Continue to Ouazzane, a city known for its spiritual significance to Sufism, before arriving in the imperial city of Meknes, founded by Moulay Ismail and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy a panoramic tour of the city including the Mellah Jewish Quarter, Bab Mansour Gate and the Mausoleum of Moulay.* Afterwards, continue to Fez to check-in to your hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Fez. * Please note: The city of Meknes is currently undergoing extensive renovation works and no date has been set for their completion. Day 5: Fez

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a full day tour of Fez, considered the centre of Islam in Morocco. It is the intellectual and religious capital of the country. Begin with a panoramic view from one of the hills surrounding the city, then visit the bronze doors of the Royal Palace and walk into the medina to visit Medersas, the centre of Koranic studies. Explore the workshops in the artisan neighbourhoods. Walk along the broad Boulevard of Mohamed V and stroll through the endless streets of the world's largest medina. After the visit, return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Fez.

Day 6: Fez - Midelt - Erfoud

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart through the gentle mountains of the Middle Atlas, until you reach the city of Midelt, known for its apple cultivation. Continue along a beautiful route and view Berber life first hand. Arrive in Erfoud, at the edge of the great Sahara desert. Tonight, you have the opportunity to spend the night in a Berber Jaima Camp of your choice in the dunes of the Sahara.* Dinner and overnight stay in Erfoud. * Optional Night in the Sahara Dunes. Take a 4x4 all-terrain vehicle to reach the high dunes of Merzouga. Admire the magical sunset and spend the night in a typical Berber Jaima Camp, with a traditional dinner included. Please note: If you would like to book this experience you must reserve it in advance, up to 30 days before departure, as places are limited. You will not be able to sleep in the hotel if you choose this optional night at the camp.

Day 7: Erfoud - Gorges of Todgha - Dades Valley - Kalaat M'Gouna - Ouarzazate

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, visit the captivating Gorges of Todgha, and the Dades Valley, to experience the natural wonders of this unique landscape. Pass by ancient fortresses of red abode and lush oases before arriving at the small Berber town of Kalaat M'Gouna, famous for its roses and perfumes. Continue to Ouarzazate, a desert city and enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 8: Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech

Breakfast at the hotel. Embark on a visit to the Kasbah of Taourirt, the former residence of the Pacha Glaoui called the Lord of the Atlas Region. Continue to the majestic Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This Kasbah, dotted with crenellated towers, is considered one of the most beautiful in the country and has often been a filming location for movies. In the afternoon, depart across the High Atlas mountains en route to Marrakech. Arrive in Marrakech, and spend the rest of the day exploring at your leisure. Dinner and overnight stay in Marrakech.

Day 9: Marrakech

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, embark on an eye-opening tour of the wonders of Marrakech, starting with the Minaret of the Koutoubia, from the 13th century and the spiritual centre of Marrakech. Visit the Palace of the Bahia, the residence of the old vizir, and known for its intricate tile and wood carving decoration. Discover how spices and argan oil are made in a local school before you head to the Jamaa el Fna square home to the bustling souks, so typical of the city and full of fruit vendors and stalls selling wicker baskets. Dinner and overnight stay in Marrakech.

Day 10: Marrakech

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a day at your leisure, explore the abundance sights, sounds and aromas of sensational Marrkech. We recommend haggling for authentic souvenirs in the souk, explore the Kasbah and Mellah neighbourhoods or heading to the new town to discover the oasis of the Jardin Majorelle. Dinner and overnight stay in Marrakech.

Day 11: Marrakech - Casablanca - US

Breakfast at the hotel*. At the indicated time, transfer to the airport in Casablanca to board a flight back to US. Arrive in US and end your trip. * Depending on the return flight schedule and the hotel breakfast service, you may not be able to enjoy the included breakfast on the last day. ** The airport transfer will be shared with other travelers in your tour group.You may be required to wait a few hours before leaving , depending on the flight times

DAY 2, Tuesday - Arrive in Casablanca, Travel to Rabat
Arrive in Casablanca and transfer to your hotel in Rabat where you have the rest of the day at leisure. Your tour begins with an orientation meeting with your Tour Manager at approximately 6 PM, followed by a light dinner. We recommend that you select flights which arrive in Casablanca no later than 3 PM

DAY 3, Wednesday - Rabat City Tour
This morning, take a city tour of Rabat, Morocco's capital. Rabat, which means "Fortified Place" displays all of the fine architecture one might expect to see. View the Royal Palace and the ancient ruins of Chellah, a city that traces its origins to the Carthaginians and Phoenicians. Visit the Oudaya Kasbah and the Hassan Tower. Spend the afternoon at leisure

DAY 4, Thursday - Travel to Tangier
Today, depart for Tangier, a fascinating Moroccan city guarding the Strait of Gibraltar. Take an orientation tour of Tangier, visiting the Cap Spartel and the Cave of Hercules. After free time for lunch, spend the rest of the day at leisure. Tonight for dinner, you might want to sample tajine pescado (fish stew) a regional specialty

DAY 5, Friday - Explore Tangier
This morning, another opportunity to explore Tangier. The city has served as Europe's gateway to Africa for centuries. Its blend of international and cross-cultural influences is unique in Morocco. Visit the Tangier American Legation, a five-story mansion located in the medina. Walk through Perdicaris Parc, a lush natural landscape within the city. Experience the atmosphere of the Grand Soco, Tangier's largest market, as well as the legendary kasbah

DAY 6, Saturday - Chefchaouen en route to Fez
Depart Tangier and head south to Fez. Along the way stop at Chefchaouen, nestled in Morocco's Rif Mountains. The city is known as "The Blue Pearl" is painted in various shades of blue, a custom that dates back to the 15th century, when an influx of Jews escaping the Spanish Inquisition settled here. They brought along the tradition of painting buildings blue to mirror the sky and remind them of God. Afterward, continue to Fez. Take a short bus tour of the city, conducted by your Tour Manager, on the way to the hotel

DAY 7, Sunday - Full Day in Fez
Spend a full day at leisure to bravely wander the old medina yourself or, choose to take a guided optional tour where you will visit the many hidden treasures of the medina that only a Moroccan guide will know. Fez is famous for its tanneries and the Fes el Bali Medina. A short visit to the surrounding leather shops gives you the best view of the tanneries. See the Attarine Medersa, Moulay Idriss mausoleum, and visit the Nejjarine Fountains and Museum. Finally, view the exterior of the Royal Palace and walk through the Jewish Quarter of the medina. This evening, enjoy dinner together

DAY 8, Monday - Travel to Erfoud
This will be a long touring day. After breakfast, depart for Erfoud via the montane cedar woods of the middle Atlas Mountains, passing by Ifrane, a charming ski resort. Continue to Erfoud via Errachidia and the lush Ziz Valley. Arrive to your Erfoud hotel in the early evening in time for dinner

DAY 9, Tuesday - Rissani City Tour
This morning, depart to explore the small city of Rissani, on the edge of the Sahara. En route, stop at a fossil factory to learn more about this unique activity which is famous in the region. Upon arrival to Rissani, tour the lively souk and visit an 18th-century ksar. Next, pass by the ancient ruins of Sijilmasa on the River Ziz, once a medieval trade depot. Return to Erfoud for an afternoon at leisure or, join the optional tour of the Sahara, including a camel ride into the desert

DAY 10, Wednesday - Travel to Ait Benhaddou
This morning, continue your journey to Tinghir via the Tinjdad Road. View the Todgha canyons, which rise to a towering 800 feet. After a brief stop in the Dades Canyons, continue to Ait Benhaddou via the road of the thousand Kasbahs, and the Dades Valley, famous for its roses. Arrive at the hotel in the Ouarzazate Region later in the evening

DAY 11, Thursday - Visit Ait Benhaddou, Travel to Marrakesh
After breakfast, visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou, a ksar along a former caravan route. Its desert-dusted Kasbah and maze-like warrens are sure to enthrall you. The ksar has served as a backdrop in film and TV productions from Gladiator to Game of Thrones. Next, make your way to the city of Marrakesh for overnight

DAY 12, Friday - Marrakesh City Tour
After breakfast, take a morning tour of the city. Visit the Saadian Tombs, dating back to the 16th century. Your tour also includes the Koutoubia Minaret, as well as the beautiful Bahia Palace. Finally, end the tour by walking through the medina before arriving at the Djemaa el Fna Square. Spend the afternoon at leisure, or join the optional Cooking Class with Carriage Ride. Participate in a cooking class and learn how to prepare traditional Moroccan tajine as well as Moroccan flatbread. After dinner, take a horse-drawn carriage through Djemaa el Fna Square and the lively streets of Marrakesh by night

DAY 13, Saturday - Full Day in Marrakesh
Spend the day at leisure. Perhaps join the morning optional Ourika Valley tour. See the natural majesty of Morocco at its finest, a pristine and marvelous place where only the birds disturb the silence

DAY 14, Sunday - Travel to Agadir
After breakfast, head south towards the resort town of Agadir, in the foothills of the Anti-Atlas Mountains. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and spend time at leisure. Tonight, head to the beachfront promenade lined with a wide variety of restaurants and cafes

DAY 15, Monday - Agadir City Tour, Travel to Essaouira
Embark on a city tour of Agadir where you will have the chance to view the beaches of this former fishing village, as well as the hilltop ruins of the old kasbah. This afternoon, set out for the city of Essaouira. Along the way, stop at the Marjana Cooperative to view traditional methods of extracting Argan Oil, reputedly rich in nutrients and antioxidants, beneficial to skin and hair. Continue on to Essaouira, also known as Mogador. The modern city was not constructed until the late 18th century by Mohammed III. Upon arrival, check into your hotel. Free time this evening to explore the city before dinner

DAY 16, Tuesday - Essaouira City Tour
This morning, take a guided tour through Essaouira's medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk along the city's ramparts just north of Moulay Hassan Square. Continue on to the Skala de la Ville, which is a fortification built along the cliffs that defended the city from sea attacks. In the Medina, artisans, and craftsmen practice their trades as they have for hundreds of years. Explore the many souks in the medina, including the spice and jewelry souks. Visit a jewelry shop, renowned for its quality and design, and browse the collection of uniquely handcrafted silver jewelry. Spend the balance of the day at leisure

DAY 17, Wednesday - Travel to Casablanca, Casablanca City Tour
Today, travel to Casablanca. Along the way, stop for lunch on your own. Upon arrival, take a tour of the city including the exterior of the Hassan II Mosque* and the beautiful Corniche seaside. Continue on a short drive through the residential areas of Casablanca to the city center to visit the Mohamed V Square, the Habous quarter, and the Notre Dame de Lourdes Cathedral. Tonight during dinner, bid farewell to your Tour Manager
*Hassan II Mosque is subject to unexpected closures for local religious observances. Details will be provided locally by your Tour Manager.
