Experience the heart of Malta during this 6-day guided tour. Venture from your waterfront hotel in Sliema to the capital of Malta: In Valletta, you will meet a Local Expert who will guide you through the Fortress City, filled with golden-hued buildings and anchored by St. John's Cathedral. In the beautiful village of Marsaxlokk, relax on the waterfront as you watch traditional fishing boats float across the clear blue water — then eat their fresh catch during a delicious local lunch. Later, in Mdina, join a Local Expert on a walk through the fortified Silent City, nicknamed for its peaceful atmosphere. Then, toast to an incredible journey during a final celebration dinner with your fellow travelers. |
Day 1 Welcome to Malta!
Upon arrival, you'll be transferred to your hotel in Qawra. Drop your bags and start exploring!
Day 2 Qawra
Qawra is a charming resort town found on the Mediterranean island of Malta, where marvelous rocky beaches and water sports await you. Visit the impressive Fort Tigné or the 17th-century watchtower, Julian’s Tower, to learn more about the culture of the island.
Day 3 Qawra
Today, consider a day trip to nearby Valletta! A short distance from Qawra, Valletta is a vibrant city with rich history and ample sightseeing opportunities. Stroll along the Grand Harbor in the evening before making your way back to your hotel in Qawra!
Day 4 Qawra
Take another day trip today to Comino Island and the amazing Blue Lagoon! The lagoon is easily accessible via public transportation and ferry from Qawra. Soak up the sun and the spectacular scenery!
Day 5 Qawra
Today, explore more of Qawra! Explore the charming seaside area on a day full of sun and adrenaline. Try out some beach activities such as snorkeling, diving, or simply enjoy a walk along the crisp coastline. Tonight, find a waterfront restaurant and celebrate the end of a fantastic trip!
Day 6 Depart Malta
Today, you'll be transferred to the Malta Airport in time for your flight home.
Day 1: Welcome to Malta
Welcome to picturesque Malta. A striking Island abundant in character, you’ll delve further into its 7,000-year history over the next few days. Transfers to your hotel are available at any time. Once at the Radisson Blu resort, sit back and relax before meeting your Travel Director and fellow travellers for a Welcome Dinner with wine at 18.30.
Day 2: Southern Delights Relaxed Start
Venture south to Valletta, Malta’s striking capital, with a Local Expert. Once here you’ll visit the Upper Barrakka Gardens and the impressive St. John's Cathedral, designed in a baroque fashion. Find yourself captivated by the abundance of history as you walk through the elegant streets to see why it is named The Fortress City with its restored golden-stone buildings that mould the cityscape. Visit the National War Museum and learn about Malta’s important role in WWII, with a lecture from an historian. Enjoy time to further explore Valletta at your own pace. Later this afternoon, join a MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experience at the scenic Xrobb L-Ghagin Natural Park and learn about renewable energy, biodiversity and eco-tourism. Continue on to the pretty fishing village of Marsaxlokk. Look out at the Mediterannean Ocean and feel completely relaxed as you watch colourful luzzu, traditional Maltese fishing boats, sway in the crystal blue water. For dinner, feast on delicious seafood, freshly plucked from the sea.
Day 3: Free time in Sliema Relaxed Start
Today is free for you to laze on the rooftop terrace and enjoy the marvellous seascapes from the seafront hotel. Perhaps take a relaxing stroll along the promenade filled with many restaurants and bars. If you’re feeling more active, why not take an Optional Experience with lunch on Gozo Island? Calypso Cave, found on the island, is said to be the one Homer wrote about in his acclaimed epic poem, The Odyssey.
Day 4: Free Day in Malta
Your day is at leisure.
Day 5: Mdina the Silent City
Head to Mdina with a Local Expert in the late afternoon to explore this golden city, known also as the silent city for its shady streets and peaceful atmosphere. Enjoy a Celebration Dinner at a wonderful local restaurant where you’ll toast to your trip with your fellow travellers.
Day 6: Depart Malta
It’s time to say goodbye to this beautiful island and your fellow travellers, as a transfer takes you to Malta International Airport for your onward journey.
