CharlieTheTraveler runs over 20 tours at this current time. Our meal inclusions and exclusions are pretty much the same for each tour. Breakfast and dinner are not included. Lunches are included specifically when making a daytrip via boat. Otherwise, they are not. We are very picky about food and refuse to accept anything short of quality. We do our best to ensure you are being offered healthy and tasty local cuisine. |

You will also not find another tour out there that offers it all ""FIRST CLASS,"" yet for a relatively low price. We have thousands of travelers taking this specific tour every year-and that's because no competitor can beat us on quality, price and substance. Below are just some examples of what you will see and do on this tour:
|
Day 1 Welcome to Punta Cana!
Land in Dominican Republic and enjoy a transfer to your hotel. Once you've settled into your hotel room, explore the property and treat yourself to a poolside cocktail!
Day 2 Punta Cana
The Hotel Riu Palace Macao is within a Riu Resorts complex together with the Riu Palace Punta Cana, Hotel Riu Bambu, Hotel Riu Naiboa and Hotel Riu Palace Bavaro, and like its neighbors, it offers an entertainment program that you can enjoy all day long. The all-inclusive system gives you the opportunity to try out various activities and sports such as table tennis, gymnastics, water polo, volleyball, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, bodyboarding and much more.
Day 3 Punta Cana
Visit the Arena Gorda beach today. It is located nearby and is one of the most photographed beaches in the world. Arrange a day-trip here and spend the day enjoying the white sands and blue waters.
Day 4 Punta Cana
Soak in the rays in the morning and then venture off and do some exploring! The Del Este National Park is a natural sanctuary formed by semi-humid forests and the island of Isla Saona, complete with heavenly beaches and sparkling waters. The area is also notable for its 400 or so caves. Many of them contain cave paintings by the Tainos, the inhabitants of the island until the Spanish settlers arrived.
Day 5 Depart Dominican Republic
Today you'll pack your things, enjoy a transfer back to the airport, and board your flight back home!
Day 1: Arriving into the Dominican Republic’s Showcase Resort
We start our trip to the Dominican Republic in Punta Cana. This is also where we are based for the entire duration of our tour. It is from here we make daily excursions, which are packed with culture and excitement. Today we pick you up from the airport and take you to your hotel. Let's check out Bavaro. It is the most popular white-sand beach in the Punta Cana area.
Day 2: An Open Bar on & Catamaran Ride to Catalina Island as Well as Visiting a Mediterranean-Style Village
We are taken this morning to a dock near to La Romana. There we take the catamaran departure to Catalina Island. Lunch is included today, as is an open bar once on Catalina Island. The island offers a diverse preservation of ecosystems, including sand dunes, mangroves and reefs. Formed out of coral stone, the island contains three overlapping plateaus. The seas around the island are rich in wildlife, with many species of birds and tropical marine fish. Catalina Island is especially popular for snorkeling.
Once we have returned to the dock near to La Romana, we are taken to Altos de Chavon. At this recreated Mediterranean style village located atop the Chavon River, we are provided with a guided tour. Altos de Chavon hosts a cultural center, an archeological museum and an amphitheater.
Day 3: The Caribbean's Most Underrated City, Colonial Santo Domingo
Today we visit the oldest permanent European settlement of the New World, Santo Domingo. There we are provided with a guided tour. The colonial zone is an architectural gem that truly feels detached from the rest of the city. Think of attractive Spanish era squares, monuments and parks, shirtless men playing dominoes, good food, exciting music (not least bachata and meringue) and an amazing nightlife scene.
The Old Town (a.k.a. Zona Colonial) has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is an important section of the city due to the high number of landmarks, including the residence of Alcázar de Colón, Fortaleza Ozama Castle and Primada de America Cathedral. Although the Old Town deserves most of our time, the outer areas of Gazcue and the Malecon are worth exploring too. All in all, the capital of the Dominican Republic is arguably one of the region’s most underrated destinations.
Day 4: A Protected Virgin Forest, Riding Through Mangroves & Another Open Bar
Today we are taken to Los Haitises National Park. There we take a boat through mangroves as well as swim at the beautiful Punta Arena beach. Lunch is included today, as is an open bar. Los Haitises National Park is a protected virgin forest with little road access. The number of tourists allowed is limited, but since 2000, it has been a relatively popular destination for ecotourism. There is a multitude of caverns created by water erosion.
Day 5: Another Open Bar on the Country's Most Popular Yet "Deserted" Island
We take a morning catamaran or speedboat departure to Saona Island. Lunch and an open bar on the island are included today. Saona Island is a popular destination for tourists from all over the Dominican Republic, who arrive daily in fleets of catamarans and small motorboats. Saona is known for its beaches and has been used on a number of occasions by filmmakers and advertisers looking for a stereotypical "deserted island" setting for their film or product.
Day 6: Our Tour Ends This Morning
Transportation will be arranged for you to reach the airport in Punta Cana.
Note that if you have extra time, we can arrange a private tour for you to the beach of Playa Bahia de Las Aguilas. It is in the southwest area of the country. Also worth visiting is the Samaná Peninsula in the north, specifically the beaches of Playa Rincon, Playa Fronton and Playa Galeras as well as El Limón Waterfall. The reason why these worthwhile destinations are not included in our itinerary is because they are all difficult to reach. Again, however, can we make private arrangements for you upon request.
