View green, red, and white ribbons of colors dance in the star-studded night sky as you hear tales of their mythology and science that give you an even deeper appreciation of this unique phenomenon. Watch the lights in the evenings, and by day explore this island sculpted by icebergs and fjords. Take an exhilarating ATV journey through the Vatnajokull National Park, and watch for skuas and seals. Stroll the volcanic black sand beaches and savor the local lobster. The sights and flavors of southern Iceland are unique, memorable, and truly captivating. |
Day1: Reykjavík, Iceland

Welcome to Iceland! Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Reykjavik City. The rest of the day is free for leisure until we start our hunt for the Northern Lights.
This evening, head for the south coast; into the dark and away from the city lights. Once outside of the city, we'll begin our hunt for the beautiful Aurora Borealis, while the guide tells us stories about this striking phenomena. Next we will visit the black sand beaches of the south coast for a little taste of Icelandic delicacies! As we continue our quest for the northern lights we drive to one of Iceland's most renowned seafood restaurants for an unforgettable lobster feast dinner. After this delicious dinner, drive into the night in search of the mysterious lights once again as we head back to Reykjavik.
Day 2: Reykjavík to Hofn

This morning you will be taken to the domestic airport in Reykjavik for a flight to Hofn on the South East coast of Iceland.
You will be met at the airport and taken to your hotel. After check-in, you will have some leisure time for a scenic walk on your own through the village and down to the harbor, where you might watch the fishermen land their catch of the day.
In the evening, join a guided walking tour to hunt for the magical Northern Lights.
Day 3: Vatnajokull Region

Today, you will enjoy a tour to Jokulsarlon, the Glacier Lagoon where you might see seals swimming between the huge floating icebergs.
Jokulsarlon appeared first only in 1934-35 and it grew from 7.9 km2 to 18 km2 in 1975, due to heavy melting of the glacier. It is only a short distance that separates Jökulsárlón from the sea. With the combined action of the glacier and the river that empties from the lake. The ocean may eventually transform it into an inlet of the sea. The lake is filled with floatingicebergs which have been calving off the Breiðamerkurjökull and there you can sea skuas, big seagulls and seals at and in the lake. Enjoy an ATV trip in the magical environment of Vatnajokull National Park. In the afternoon, fly back to Reykjavik with where you will be privately transferred to your hotel.
Day 4: Depart Reykjavík

Today is a day of leisure, shopping, or optional tours until time for your transfer to the airport for your afternoon flight home or onto your next destination.
