"We just got back from our trip 'Europe Jewel's with Expatexplore (EJ240524) with a tour guide Ken and a driver Jeff. The tour started on May 24 2024. The trip could have been very good if we had a different guide. Our guide Ken was a very cold, unfriendly person who didn't care about people, their requests or problems. One girl got lost during the excursion. We don't know what happened to her. Some people were abandoned, lost and returned to the group on their own... Ken even mentioned that 7 people were lost during one of his tours... It's just that this fact is very frightening. We have traveled with other tour companies and safety has never been an issue, but not in this tour with Expat and Ken. Another point worth mentioning: it was very cold on the bus, people were wearing hats. We and the other people in the group asked Ken several times to adjust the temperature to a comfortable temperature, but there was no action on his part. As a result, some people got sick. Many complained about the constant music on the bus. Everyone should understand that this tour is very eventful, with a lot of walking every day. People need to take a nap while sitting on the bus. With constant music, it is impossible to rest. Despite people's requests for a break from music, nothing has changed. We were told that the bus is the office of the driver and guide, they can listen to music anytime they want! They don't care, people don't want that music all the time! Some people didn't make it to the dinner they paid for because they got lost on the way... We believe that people like Ken cannot work as a group guide at all. This was our first experience with Expat and it was very disturbing and tense because of Ken's dismissive attitude towards the group members. We could have had a much better experience with expats if we had a different guide, but unfortunately we experienced the worst. After reading the reviews of other travelers with expats, we can see that this is a normal scenario from this company. ;( We recommend staying away from expats and traveling with other companies that prioritize travelers' comfort and safety! Save your money and nerves!"

"We wanted to go to Australia in June, see Sydney, Uluru ( Ayers Rock), and the Great Barrier Reef. Ended up putting it off a year and found a ten day trip that worked from Bookmundi.. We signed up, bought our flights, and eventually paid it off. Then six weeks before we were to leave, Bookmundi canceled the trip, with a vague explanation about issues with their vendor, who turned out to be Discovery Nomads.Who emailed me and said that if we got our refund we could then pay them we could still do the trip, just as booked. What would you do? We took our chances, quickly paid after we quickly got our refund from Bookmund. Now, we’re just home from the best three week vacation ever. We bought several days both before and after. Discovery Nomads arranged the perfect ten day vacation of Australia. We toured, ground and water, Sydney, went to the Great Barrier Reef and a tropical rainforest, then on to Uluru (Ayers Rock), then Melbourne, a fabulous city. This trip has dozens of moving parts, what with lodging, transportation, and tours. So many things could have wrong, but nothing did."

Paris Tour Selection Trips

  • In Paris, it's possible to spend weeks discovering new places to see. However you can comfortably see the major sights on a 4 to 6 day stay. Many tours of France include a few days in Paris, and it's often possible to arrange to stay longer after your tour ends.
  • The French are famously a bit frosty, especially when it comes to their language. But contrary to popular belief, in most cases, if you try and are earnest about being respectful of the French language, they will appreciate it. 
  • Don't try to see all of the Lourve in one day, or even one trip. You'll exhaust yourself! Your tour guide will know the good times to go to avoid long lines, and will be able to navigate the museum at a moderately quick pace - allowing you to return home having seen the major works on display. 
  • Paris is a walkng city! Never pass up the opportunity to take a walking tour or simply stroll the idyllic streets for an afternoon. Those with limited mobility - such as wheelchair travelers, or older travelers for whom walking is difficult - beware. The city is beautiful and charming, due to the cobblestoned streets - and cobblestones can be very uncomfortable to walk on even for short distances.
