The old town of Cartagena looks and feels like it was dropped in from another time. Originally a military outpost, old cannons are still standing along the stone walls surrounding the interior where winding cobblestoned streets, hanging flower pots, lovely shops, cafes and restaurants, bring to mind Europe rather than South America.
