Editor’s Take
Most trip reviews tend to focus on some or all of these 5 key areas, not all of which may be relevant to you: the tour guide, travel company, service level, country or countries traveled in, and the trip itinerary.
Remember, just because you see a 1 star review doesn’t necessarily mean that person disliked the country.
Holy Land tours are often suited for people interested in renewing their faith, and those who want to gain a further understanding of their religion through visiting historical sites. While there are exciting excursions that don’t focus on religion, such as floating in the dead sea, most of the top tourist sites are religion-based.
These tours are filled with a lot of adventure and sightseeing. Travelers love the mix of free time and rearranged site seeing. Holy Land tours offer extensive overviews of Israel, allowing visitors to explore the entire country, as well as Jordan and the Palestinian Territories. Visitors felt that safety was a priority, which is comforting when traveling in unknown lands. Tour guides were noted to be extremely knowledgeable while exploring different sites/regions, including learning about the culture and the people.
The tour guides also focused on making sure everyone was having an enjoyable experience, so you can trust that you’re going to have a great time on your Holy Land visit. Many people said having tour guides who knew the land and an array of knowledge made their experience meaningful. Having someone who is so passionate about their country and can show you secret places that only locals know about creates unforgettable memories. Travelers felt that the quality of their visit was overall worth it, and the ease of having everything arranged (including flights, hotels, transportation, tours, and making sure your luggage gets between places) helped make the trip enjoyable.
Trip reviews can vary depending on what you’re looking for in your Holy Land tour. Itinerary lengths span from 1 week-2 weeks, and sometimes longer. Physical activity depends on the tour as well, some with easy to moderate physical activity levels, and some with more strenuous activity. Awareness of the itineraries and how many activities you expect to do can help you prepare for this trip. This information is posted on each tour webpage. Checking before booking a tour can help ensure a positive trip that matches your needs and desires.
Depending on the time of year you go, some travelers noted that the dry, hot summers made traveling difficult. Checking into the monthly weather conditions and knowing what type of weather you’re looking to travel in can help make a better experience. Another difficulty for travelers is the culture shock/change, especially for those who are new to international travel.
The new food can be a big change as well. Studying up before you on the culture and language (and maybe checking out a local Israeli restaurant at home!) before you head out on your upcoming adventure can help ease these travel difficulties, creating a more pleasant experience.
