"I recently returned from the Costa Rican wildlife safari. I was a bit concerned with Covid however every place was extremely clean and had places for you to wash your hands before you even walked in. This was a trip I was actually supposed to go on in 2020 however it was postponed, waiting so long the expectations were high. I was definitely not disappointed! Patricia our guide was absolutely wonderful, extremely knowledgeable and cater to our every need. I would highly recommend this vacation. Also everyone that I met in the community was extremely gracious and kind. The majority of these people work on tourism and unfortunately in the last year have not had any. "First time we (mom and daughter) have done a tour and first time with on the go tours. What a special trip we had doing the 13 day Casablanca to Essaouira Morocco tour (26 Nov - 6 Dec 2023). We started the first 8 days doing the totally Morocco tour and the last few days at our own pace with down time in Essaouira. Jamal our guide led the tour from start to finish and took us safely on a culture filled journey. His knowledge of the country, it’s history and people was informative and inspiring. Every request was “no problem” and delivered with a smile and happy demeanour. Everything in Morrocco was “no problem” and we felt safe and looked after. We were driven in a comfortable coach with enough stops along the way to not feel long by our competent driver Suleman. The hotels, Riad and Dar were extremely comfortable with exceptional service. We would not have had the same experience travelling on our own, we felt as though we truly experienced Morocco. Everything was a highlight for us and we will definitely book another on the go tour in the future. If you wanting to see true Morocco we would strongly recommend doing this tour."

"We spent two wonderful weeks touring several of the best destinations in Portugal & Spain with a group of 16 people. Our guide (Fredy) was from Spain and intimately familiar with the region, including its rich history, attractions, and food/beverages. The tour was well-paced using a combinations of private vehicles (small buses and cabs), trains, and an airplane ride as well as a fair amount of walking to get around these two beautiful countries. We extended our stay in Lisbon to see more attractions and took a side trip to Fatima, Obidos, and Nazare that was also excellent. Would have liked to have a bit more time in a couple of the cities, but we'll just have to plan another trip!"

"This was a fantastic trip. Everything went well from start to finish, the views and the hikes were amazing! Nigel Lewis is an excellent guide and was patient and empathetic, managing the different walking paces in our group very effectively. The hotel was clean, comfortable and had a beautiful lakeside view. We were well fed, both in the hotel and in local restaurants. Our group gelled together very well and we sincerely enjoyed each other's company for the week. We swapped the walks on the last two days due to weather conditions and I feel that this should be amended on the itinerary as the walk on the last day was the best and a perfect way to end the week's hiking. A perfect holiday, thank you Explore for a great week, already searching for the next trip!"

Nicaragua Tour Selection Trips

November through April is peak season and April through through November is off-peak. However, note that the country gets extremely dry and brown (and hot) from February to April.
Consider visiting during the rainy season starting from May for beautiful green scenery; just avoid September and October when the rains are heavy and can last all day.
Spanish is the national language and English is not widely spoken. A phrasebook may come in handy.
Plan for at least 10 days in the country. There are a number of areas to visit for a complete and varied trip. That being said, many top surfers spend weeks and never leave the beach.
