Day 1: Arrive at Kathmandu's International Airport (1,345 m)

Our airport representative will be receiving you at Tribhuvan International airport, Kathmandu and s/he will be displaying an Ace the Himalaya signboard outside the airport terminal. You will be then transferred to your respective hotel in our private tourist vehicle.

Pashupatinath Temple

Pashupatinath is one of the most sacred Hindu shrines in the world and lies 5 kms east of the city center. The richly-ornamented pagoda houses the sacred Linga, or phallic symbol, of Lord Shiva. Chronicles indicate the temple’s existence prior to 400 AD. Devotees can be seen taking ritual dips in the holy Bagmati River flowing beside the temple.

Boudhanath

Later visit Boudhanath, the 2,500 years old Buddhist stupa in the Valley built in 5th century with four pairs of eyes of Lord Buddha in four cardinal directions keeping an eternal watch over the people and their doings. Transfer from Palpa to Pokhara; 115 kms/ 6 – 7 hours drive.Upon arrival, check in at hotel.

We wake up early today to catch a glimpse of the spectacular sunrise over the Himalayas. After we have breakfast we head to Pokhara on a tourist bus, van or a car, depending on the size of the group.

Company Overview

Ace the Himalaya was founded by Prem K Khatry in 2006, after working for many years as a freelance tour/trekking leader. Prem founded Ace to be a 100% locally-owned inbound ground operator in Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet and India. Since 2006, Ace the Himalaya has been proudly showcasing the scenic beauty of the glorious Himalayas to the world. As a Nepalese-owned company, Ace offers wholesale tour operators the twin benefits of affordable ground services and superior quality itineraries and travel planning services. Today, the company employs a staff of 110 and has proudly served thousands of trekking groups in Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan and India.

What We Do

Ace specializes in hiking, trekking, mountaineering, rafting, wildlife safaris, mountain biking, cultural tours, and special itineraries (honeymoon, photography, festivals, voluntourism and student). Ace offers both pre-planned itineraries and custom travel planning services. Our average group size has eight clients and two guides. Ace can also accommodate large groups, having worked with student groups of about 250 travelers.

We have packages for ‘Voluntourism’, which stands for volunteering (teaching, rebuilding construction etc.) while traveling. Also, we have just started a special marriage package in traditional Nepalese custom for the couples on a holiday in Nepal.

    • Nepal entry visa –- you can obtain a visa easily upon your arrival at the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu. (Tourist Visa with Multiple Entries for 15 days can be obtained by paying US $ 25 or equivalent foreign currency. Similarly, Tourist Visa with Multiple Entries for 30 days and 90 days can be obtained by paying US $40 and $ 100 respectively. Please bring 2 copies of passport size photos).
    • Lunch and dinner in all places except chitwan(about USD 15 to USD 20 per person per day).
    • All Items of Personal nature like drink, Laundry etc.

  • Warm wool or synthetic hat that covers your ears (only if you are traveling in the cold season i.e January, February and December)
  • Goggles or sunglasses for sunbeam, dust and wind.
  • A neck warmer is another piece of gear for extra warmth if you feel you will need it and is for cold season i.e January, February and December.(optional)
  • 1 pair warm gloves (This is required if you are traveling in cold season i.e January, February and December).

  • Waterproof (preferably breathable fabric) shell jacket (preferable if you are traveling in rainy season from June to September.)
