Day 2: Pompeii

Recover from perhaps rather an over indulgence of lovely Italian wine last night with a leisurely breakfast and lots of coffee, polished off on your hotel's terrace. By mid-morning and now feeling ready for the day, it's time to hit the road with a private transfer on...

Day 3: Path of the Gods

Get up nice and early this morning as we’ve planned a spectacular walk for you, and you don’t want to be doing it in the midday heat! A hearty breakfast is also going to be key, so enjoy it in the sunshine as you slowly wake up. The walk we recommend is along the Sent...

Day 4: Amalfi Coast – Capri

Accommodation: Capri Palace hotel or JK Place Capri

After breakfast this morning you will be collected from the hotel and driven to the port in Sorrento or Amalfi (depending on where you are staying) where you will board a fast ferry to Capri - which should tak...

Day 5: The Isle of Capri

You’ve only got one full day on Capri, so make the most of it. Spend the morning wandering around the town stocking up on classic Capri pants for the ladies and dapper trousers from Laboratorio for the chaps before descending the sinuous steps down a cliff face to the...

Day 6: Capri – Rome

Accommodation: Hotel de Russie

After an earlyish breakfast you will be transferred back to the harbour in time for you to take the hydrofoil or fast catamaran ferry back to the mainland – this time into Naples - which will take around an hour.

You will b...

Day 7: When in Rome

Feeling fully refuelled after a good night's sleep, it's time for a full day of exploration. Despite the wealth of things to do and sites to see, Rome is a surprisingly small city, and arguably best explored on foot.

For first timers it's probably best to start...

Foodie Rome Tour

Hidden Rome - a half day guided tour with an archaeologist to explore underground Rome, a labyrinth of ancient crypts, sewers, tunnels and buildings

Day 8: Rome - UK

It might be your final day but the trip isn’t over yet. A visit to the effortlessly fashionable Italian capital wouldn’t be complete without a spot of shopping; so whether you treat yourself to a new Prada handbag, a classic Italian scarf, or just a great bottle of wi...

Accommodation

,Casa Angelina With just 39 rooms, the boutique Casa Angelina hotel offers the luxury and comforts of a five star hotel in a charming and artistic atmosphere in laidback Praiano. Perched on a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean, the hotel offers everything for those who love the sea and seek tranquility and even when your eye isn't drawn irresistibly to the beautiful views out to sea and Capri beyond, there is plenty of art dotted around Casa Angelina's stylish white interiors, with paintings, bronzes and glass work on show. The rooms are an exercise in reverse Fordism - you can have any colour you want, as long as it's white - all the rooms are stylish and very comfortable and the majority have baths in the en-suites. Hotel de Russie The five-star Hotel de Russie is ideally located just off Piazza del Popolo and close to the Spanish Steps. The rooms and suites have a contemporary feel and are equipped with every high-tech amenity. Most have views over the gardens or the rooftops of Rome, and several of the suites have panoramic terraces. The excellent spa offers a range of massages and treatments, and has a hydropool, Jacuzzi, sauna, Turkish steam bath, and gym. The Stravinskij bar serves light lunches, afternoon teas and evening cocktails, while the Jardin de Russie restaurant serves gourmet Mediterranean cuisine with al fresco dining on the terrace and courtyard in summer. Many of the top attractions of the Eternal City are within easy walking distance, including the Borghese gardens and gallery, the Pantheon and the fashion houses of Via Condotti. Capri Palace Situated at 900ft above sea level, the hotel has superb views over the Gulf of Naples and the nearby islands of Ischia and Procida. The design is elegant and contemporary, with plenty of stone paving and cool white and ivory fabrics. Some of the suites have their own private swimming pools, gardens or terraces overlooking the Mediterranean and guests have a choice of three restaurants offering a range of formal and informal dining, including the Michelin-starred L'Olivo. Other facilities include a large outdoor swimming pool and the 'Capri Beauty Farm', one of the most renowned spas in Europe, which offers a unique and patented series of treatments including thalassotherapy and mud therapy. JK Place Capri JK Place Capri is an attractive white villa dating from the late 19th century and a hotel since 1885, opened in its latest incarnation in 2007. And what an incarnation it is - in our humble opinion this is one of the most stylish hotels anywhere in Europe, and as a result it does get busy so we would recommend booking well in advance. All rooms are individually designed in a contemporary style with luxurious bathrooms, flatscreen TVs, DVD players and Wi-Fi internet access. Most have sea views, while others overlook the gardens. Facilities include a gym, an outdoor swimming pool and a spa offering a range of treatments. The restaurant serves traditional Mediterranean cuisine on a large panoramic terrace, and there is also a bar.
