Itinerary
We recommend booking pre-trip accommodations if you'd like to fully immerse yourself in Bangkok's vibrant atmosphere.
Arrive at the Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK) before 3:00 pm.
Your Trip Leader will meet you at the airport and you will take included transportation to our accommodations located along the Chao Phraya river in the capital city of Bangkok.
Recover and relax after a long flight at the hotel or take a walk to the nearby Wang Lang Market to take in the scents of Thailand.
Enjoy a delicious Thai meal at our opening dinner on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. Get to know your new friends and begin to settle into Thailand.
Wake up in Thailand and enjoy breakfast right at your hotel.
Please wear appropriate clothing today: pants or a long dress and a shirt that covers the shoulders.
Ferry across the Chao Phraya River to visit the famous Grand Palace and then to Wat Pho, where you will find the magnificent 46 meter long gold plated Reclining Buddha.
After the tour, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in the remarkable area of Old Bangkok.
This afternoon is at your leisure. Opt to take in the vibrant sights at Pak Khlong Talat Flower Market, cruise along the canals on a longtail boat, or join a unique walking tour through the alleyways of Bangkok.
Enjoy a family style meal with a mixture of curries at a local restaurant.
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel as you listen to the sounds of morning commerce along the Chao Phraya River.
Travel the highways north to the Ayutthaya, the ancient capital of the Kingdom of Siam, to explore the archaeological ruins of temples and royal compounds by bicycle.
View the iconic head of Buddha with a tree trunk and roots growing around it at Wat Mahathat.
For lunch, fill your appetite with a bowl of Kuai Tiao Ruea, also known as boat noodles, as they were originally served from boats on the canals that intersect the city.
Visit Wat Ratchaburana, the Temple of Royal Restoration, and then enjoy some chill time on the veranda of a local guesthouse.
Enjoy dinner and purchase snacks at the night market and then board onto the train for an overnight journey to Chiang Mai! (~11 hour overnight train)

Coming down from the mountaintop, enjoy dinner as a group and reflect upon the day’s adventures.

Drive one hour north of the city to Bua Thong waterfalls, locally known as Sticky Falls.
Spend the day splashing around in this forested paradise.
Keeping it “sticky”, feast on a picnic style lunch of papaya salad and grilled meats served with Khao Niaow (sticky rice) at the waterfall park.
Return to the hotel, shower up, and choose from one of our optional activities:
Suggestions: cooking class, crafts at the Elephant Parade House, or Thai massage.
This evening you are free to explore and find dinner on your own - your Trip Leader will offer recommendations.
If you’d like to take a break from Thai food, you can find international cuisine options in Chiang Mai.
Start your day with a refreshing breakfast at the hotel.
Visit an elephant sanctuary to learn about the Asian elephants and conservation efforts to improve the lives of these giant animals.
Upon arrival to the sanctuary, assist with the feeding of the elephants, observe them going about their daily activities, and hear stories about individual elephants.
Lunch will be served at the sanctuary’s dining area.
Continue to observe the elephants as we walk around the park, making our way to the river where we will view elephants bathing.
After freshening up at the hotel, celebrate the final night in Chiang Mai with a traditional northern Thai (Lanna) meal.
Waking up to the final morning in Chiang Mai, reflect upon your experiences as you eat breakfast with your friends.
Take a two hour flight from Chiang Mai to Krabi, a beach town near the Andaman coast.
Upon arriving to Krabi, cruise in a long-tailed boat to Railay Beach, gazing at the limestone karsts that jut up out of the sea.
Explore the beaches, rent a kayak and catch the sunset.
Settle into beach life with a refreshing fruit smoothie and dinner overlooking the waters of the Andaman Sea.
Rest up and get ready for a full day of island hopping tomorrow.
Waking up to the final morning in Chiang Mai, reflect upon your experiences as you eat breakfast with your friends.

Upon arriving to Krabi, load into private vans and take in the scenery of mountainous rock formations as we drive to Khlong Muang Beach.
Check into our bungalows on the beach, explore the shoreline and catch the sunset.

Rest up and get ready for a full day of island hopping tomorrow.
Want more adventure? Join in on an optional hike to the viewpoint before breakfast.
Cruise around in our own private boat to the islands of the Andaman Sea; swim in clear blue waters, spot birds nesting, simply relax with your friends.
Lunch will be packed for this day on the boat.
On our return from the islands, we will visit our partner climbing school to get gear fitted for our climbing adventure.
Feast on some more delicious Thai cuisine and enjoy a fire show!
Cruise around in our own private boats to the islands of Phang Nga Bay; swim in hidden lagoons, spot birds nesting, simply relax with your friends.
Lunch will be packed for this day on the boat and eating on the sandy shorelines.
On our return from the islands, we’ll clean up and head into the nearby town.
Grab a meal at a beach front restaurant and enjoy the sunset settling over the islands we explored earlier in the day.
Be sure to eat a hearty breakfast at the hotel’s buffet to ensure you have the energy to get vertical in one of the world’s premier rock climbing destinations!

Who Should Come On A U30X Trip?
Over 70% of the people that come on our trips are solo travelers. This is why.
Attendees normally range from ages 21-35 from the US & Canada but U30X has given amazing experiences to people from every inhabited continent. And yes, many travelers have been over 35.
Our age minimum is 21.
Many people in our community are professionals, creatives, students, teachers, entrepreneurs, and others just figuring it out. Most travelers come alone, but lots come with friends, significant others, or anything in between.

Thai Cooking Classes: USD $25
Thai cuisine is worldly famous and most travelers coming to Thailand choose to opt for an instructional cooking class. Learn directly from the host who will teach you about the flavors, ingredients and techniques. Most importantly, you get to taste the food as you cook before enjoying the full meal at the end of the class.
Elephant Parade House: USD $18-$30
Elephant Parade is a social enterprise and runs the world’s largest art exhibition of decorated elephant statues. Created by artists and celebrities, each Elephant Parade statue is a unique art piece. The life-size, baby elephant statues are exhibited in international cities and raise awareness for the need of elephant conservation. The Elephant Parade House in Chiang Mai offers travelers a chance to paint their own elephant sculpture with the proceeds going to elephant conservation initiatives. This is a nice, relaxed and informative activity in an air-conditioned room.
Monk Chat: Suggested donation USD $3
Informally talk with a monk to learn about everyday life, Thai culture and tradition and more in-depth aspects of Buddhism. This is a perfect cultural exchange to not only learn more about the spiritual progression with the Thai Buddhist framework but to also share your culture and language with a Thai monk.
Stand Up Paddle-boarding: USD $10/hour or $55 for a sunset tour
Take a beginner lesson to learn the basics, test your balance with a yoga practice or join in on a sunset tour off the beaches of Railay. Please note: the sunset tour is only available for trips operating between April and October.
Kayaking Ao Thalane Bay: USD $25
Kayak through beautiful mangrove forests, discover small inlets, hidden caves and secret lagoons. Get up close to nature with this memorable experience. Please note: this tour is only available for trips operating between November and March.
Moderate:
Rock climbing on Railay beach (included on April through October trips) is physical but the routes are designed for beginners. There are short treks when visiting waterfalls and at the elephant sanctuary. Kayaking is optional and is conducted on open water. Tab Kak Hang Nak Nature Trail (offered on November through March trips) is a high physical hiking activity.
