Requirements
Moderate to challenging - grade 4 Daily cycles are between 36 and 83km / 21.5 and 51.5mi on flat to undulating terrain. 7 out of 9 stages are classified as introductory to moderate. The Bouillon-Bastogne stage is moderate to challenging across the Ardennes. St Vith to Monschau is moderate if you are booked to stay in Rohren (only the last climb - 2km) but not more than introductory to moderate if you stay in Monschau. On average it is a grade 3 but we have given an overall grade of 4 due to the more challenging stages. There are opportunities to shorten the cycling by taking the train on occasion. The cycling is on a combination of dedicated cycle paths and low traffic roads, including into towns. The accent is on keeping a relaxed pace to take in the attractions, with time to stop and take photos. You will need a good level of fitness to participate fully in this adventure. If you are concerned about your overall cycling fitness, we recommend you consider an e-bike. Bike helmet* (provided), mobile phone holder, wet weather gear, daypack, water bottle and sun protection. A comprehensive gear list is included in the pre-departure information provided on booking. *For safety reasons, we insist that cycle helmets are worn whilst cycling.,
